“This is a very comfortable mattress! I still have the issues with arm numbness when sleeping on my side, but that’s probably related to how I keep the arm bent. I still love the sink in feeling of the pillow top but feel like I have good support from the latex and springs below. The mattress was cool in the summer with my 100% cotton sheets and has been comfortable with some extra blankets now that it’s getting cold. I get some sinkage/motion transfer when laying directly next to my boyfriend (aka cuddling) but don’t feel him moving around once we go to our respective sides. My boyfriend, who is a side/stomach sleeper (BMI 26-27) says he prefers his tempurpedic but we both sleep better in our own beds. That being said, we both think the Birch is better than tempurpedic for romantic activities. The eco rest pillows are nice and came with the “cooling” pillow cases that come standard with Helix. The mattress cover that comes from Birch is your standard “water proof cover” you can buy on amazon for $40 and not worth the money.”

if you’re over 180lbs get the birch natural with topper, some at higher weights complain the birch luxe is too soft and doesn’t provide enough support.

if you’re under 180lbs get the birch luxe. unless you specifically like a more firmer feel and are a back sleeper you’ll probably find the birch natural even with the topper slightly too hard, especially for side-sleepers.

on getting the topper with the birch luxe – if you want a bit more plush feel get the topper. if you’re a back/stomach sleeper only you’ll probably find that no topper is better. if you’re a side or combo sleeper: under 155lbs topper probably better, 155+lbs you may prefer either one. i suggest buying the topper, trying both feels and returning the topper if you find no topper better.”
